The Nepal national women’s football team is set to face Iran in the opening match of the international friendly series being held in India. The match will take place on Friday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong, kicking off at 6:15 PM (Nepal time).

This fixture marks the second meeting between Nepal and Iran in a friendly encounter. The two sides previously met in 2019, where Nepal recorded a 3–0 victory over Iran. In that match, Sabitra Bhandari scored twice, while Anita Basnet added another goal to secure a convincing win for Nepal.

However, both teams have evolved since then. The current Iranian squad looks much stronger, having recently defeated host nation India 2–0 in a friendly match just days ago. With Iran’s recent performance, Nepal will be facing a much tougher challenge this time around.

As of now, no Nepali television channel has officially confirmed broadcasting rights for the match. However, football fans can watch the game live on FIFA+, the official streaming platform of FIFA.
