Nepal to Play Historic Three-Match T20I Series Against West Indies in Sharjah
The Nepal national cricket team is set to face West Indies in a three-match T20 International series. According to a press release issued by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the matches will be played on September 27, 28, and 30 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE.
Although the matches will take place in Sharjah, Nepal will remain the official host of the series. The decision to hold the series in the UAE comes as the TU Cricket Ground in Kathmandu is currently under construction.
CAN spokesperson Chhumbi Lama stated that the series is also part of Nepal's preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier, which is scheduled to take place in Oman in early October. "The weather and pitch conditions in Sharjah are quite similar to those in Oman, making it an ideal location for preparation," Lama explained.
He also added that all West Indies players will be available for the series, and hosting the matches in the UAE will help ease their travel arrangements.
