Final: Inter Milan vs PSG, Champions League 2024/25
The 2024–25 UEFA Champions League campaign is set for a thrilling finale on Saturday evening, as Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan clash in a high-stakes showdown in Munich.
Both sides arrive with unfinished business on the European stage. PSG continue their pursuit of a long-awaited first Champions League crown, having come up short in the 2020 final against Bayern Munich. Meanwhile, Inter Milan, who lifted the trophy in 2010 under Jose Mourinho, are looking to erase the painful memories of their defeat to Manchester City in last year’s final.
Remarkably, both teams are expected to be at full strength heading into the decider. For PSG, only long-term absentee Presnel Kimpembe remains sidelined with a lingering leg injury. Otherwise, Luis Enrique has a full squad to choose from and is likely to stick with the core lineup that edged Arsenal in the semi-finals. Ousmane Dembele, who came off the bench in that second leg, is expected to start, while a decision looms between Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola for a spot alongside Dembele and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the front three.
Inter Milan also received a major boost, with Benjamin Pavard and Piotr Zielinski returning to full training and in contention for Saturday’s squad. Star striker and captain Lautaro Martinez, who has been recovering since pushing through injury in the semi-final second leg against Barcelona, is now fully fit and ready to lead the line.
Head coach Simone Inzaghi opted to rest nearly his entire starting XI for last week’s Serie A match against Como. Key players such as Yann Sommer, Federico Dimarco, and Hakan Calhanoglu—likely starters for the final—were the only regulars included in that lineup.
