The newly-appointed head coach of Nepal national football team, Matt Ross has called the preliminary squad of 30 players for the Nepal's upcoming international friendly against Singapore and the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers match against Malaysia.
Matt Ross was announced as Nepal's new head coach on 2nd March, 2025 by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
Nepal is scheduled to play an international friendly against Singapore on March 21 in Singapore, which will see new era of Nepali football under Australia borne Matt Ross.
Similarly, Nepal will face Malaysia on 25th March as a part of AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers and it carries a lot of importance. This match against Malaysia was supposed to be Nepal's home match but AFC raised question over the playing condition at Dashrath Stadium and scheduled the match in Malaysia.
Nepal are placed in Group F of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup qualification – third round along side Malaysia, Laos and Vietnam. Table toppers will qualify for the AFC Asian Cup 2027.
