Defending champions Argentina are set to face Colombia in the final of this summer's Copa America at Hard Rock Stadium in Florida on Sunday, aiming for an unprecedented 16th title.

This highly anticipated match marks the first time Argentina and Colombia have met in a Copa America final. Argentina is making their record 30th appearance in the final, while Colombia is gearing up for just their third.

After a tense penalty shootout victory over Ecuador in the quarter-finals, Argentina secured a 2-0 win against Copa America debutants Canada in the semi-finals on Wednesday, extending their unbeaten streak to 10 matches.

Julian Alvarez opened the scoring in the first half, followed by a record-breaking goal from Lionel Messi in the second half. Messi's strike moved him past Iran's Ali Daei to become the second-highest male goalscorer in international football history with 109 goals.

Team News

Argentina has no injury or suspension issues, and coach Lionel Scaloni may opt for an unchanged lineup. The back four of Gonzalo Montiel, Cristian Romero, Lisandro Martinez, and Nicolas Tagliafico is expected to remain intact.

In midfield, Giovani Lo Celso and Exequiel Palacios will be pushing for a starting spot, but Enzo Fernandez and Rodrigo De Paul are likely to keep their places. Angel Di Maria is set for his final international appearance on the right flank.

Lionel Messi, who overcame a leg injury to play the full 90 minutes against Canada, will start alongside Julian Alvarez. This means Lautaro Martinez, who leads the tournament with four goals, is expected to begin on the bench once again.

Colombia will be without Daniel Munoz, who is suspended following his red card in the semi-finals. Santiago Arias, with 58 caps, is set to start at right-back, joining Davinson Sanchez, Carlos Cuesta, and Johan Mojica in the defense.

Captain James Rodriguez, who has set a Copa America record with six assists in five games, will continue in the number 10 role. Liverpool's Luis Diaz and Fluminense's Jhon Arias will occupy the wings.

Jhon Cordoba, who has been preferred over Aston Villa's Jhon Duran and former Eintracht Frankfurt striker Rafael Santos Borre in the last four matches, is expected to lead the line once again. Cordoba has contributed two goals and two assists in the tournament.
