Nepal vs Mongolia: Team News

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has already announced Nepal’s squad for the Asian Games. Sadly, team Nepal will be without the service of one of their best spinner Lalit Rajbanshi who suffered injury during a practice match.

He underwent successful surgery on Thursday. The Head Coach Monty Desai has called up Binod Bhandari for the first time in the team. Similarly, Bibek Yadav and Abhinash Bohara also got their maiden call up during Desai’s stint.

On the other hand, Cricket Mongolia has announced their squad with only eleven players. Since they are playing in international level for the first time, they will be under pressure as their team is very young.

Nepal Squad: Rohit Paudel (C), Aasif Sheikh, Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, Sandeep Jora, Binod Bhandari, Dipendra Singh Airee, Bibek Yadav, Gulshan Jha, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Sandeep Lamichhane, Pratish GC, Lalit Rajbanshi, Avinash Bohara.

Recent Performance

Nepali Cricket has been very much busy in past 10/12 months. Nepal has played more than 25 matches in last few months but none of them were T20s. Nepal is fresh from their recent performance against India and Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023 and will look to carry the same momentum in Asian Games as well.
